- The premier of New South Wales said the viral video of a man attacking one of the attackers at Bondi Beach was “the most incredible scene I have ever seen.” Footage circulating on social media shows a man, identified by local media as a 43-year-old fruit shop owner, in a car park wearing a white shirt attacking a man in a dark shirt holding a rifle. He then confronts the gunman from behind, snatching the rifle from him with his hands before turning the gun back on the man. Chris Means, premier of the state of New South Wales, where Sydney is located, hailed the bystander as “a true hero” and said the video was “the most incredible scene I have ever seen.” “There are many, many people alive tonight because of his bravery,” Means added.
