Israeli military sources say the expected Israeli strike on Tehran - in response to the second rocket attack on Tel Aviv in five months - is a matter of hours.
In particular, a senior military source cited by the British network iTV states that Israel's fighters have already received orders regarding the targets and the controls and loading of missiles have been completed. Israel, as is customary just before major operations, has not yet passed on the coordinates of the targets to the personnel and officers of the armed forces, in order to keep the operation top secret until the last moment.
It also remains unknown whether Israel has communicated the full plan of the strike to Washington and whether it has received the "green light" for this operation. Joe Biden last week insisted that the operation - response to Iran will be a joint operation of US and Israeli forces.
In the meantime the IDF announced that there had been Iranian missile strikes on the air force bases in Nevatim and Tel Nof. Iranian missile strikes did not hit any aircraft and the bases are fully operational, they said.
As an "introduction" to the strike against Iran, Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video message a while ago: "Iran is behind all the threats and attacks against us. They fired hundreds of missiles at us in one of the largest attacks in history. No country in the world would accept such an attack - not even Israel. Israel has the duty and the right to defend itself and respond to such attacks - and we will do so."
