The firefighting aircraft descended too low to drop water and as the pilot made the move to raise the aircraft, a piece of the left wing struck the tree causing damage.
However, the experience and composure of the pilot played a catalytic role in preventing an accident, with consequences that no one could have foreseen.
The photo published by flash.gr is revealing: The Canadair looks "wounded" on the left wing while the "marks" from the "pruning" of the top of the pine tree are still on it.
