LEGEND OF THE FIELDS, OLYMPIC! The Legend of Europe did his... miracle again. Olympiacos , the pride of Greek sports, "pressed" Fiorentina at the New Philadelphia stadium and won the Europa Conference League.

With an unimaginable goal by Ayoub El Kaabi in the 116th minute of extra time, he sent the Italians to the canvas and his fans to the 7th heaven, who saw Olympiacos win the European trophy and their big dream come true.

Legend made history
The first European trophy won by a Greek club, with the team from the great port writing history and filling its fans with joy and pride, as well as the whole of Greece.
An unrepeatable success for Olympiakos, but also for Greek sports, with the Red and Whites being rewarded for their effort and... driving all of Europe crazy.

A great moment that will never be forgotten. It will be remembered forever and will fill all Greeks with pride. A success that naturally has the seal of the club's leader, Vangelis Marinakis, who over the years did everything to lead Olympiacos to a European trophy and succeeded.
A success that has the signature of Medilibar, who came and changed the fate of Olympiakos, but also of its players, who managed to lead the Piraeus team to the top of Europe. In the pantheon of European football.

So they lined up
Jose Luis Medilibar lined up Olympiakos with Tzolakis in front of goal and Rodinei, Retso, Carmo and Ortega in the back four. Ese, Ibora and Ciquinho were in the midfield trio for the large port team and Pontense, Fortunis and El Kaabi in the corresponding attack. Vicenzo Italiano on the other hand, started Fiorentina with Terazzano in goal and Dodo, Milenkovic, Cuarta and Biraghi in defence. Arthur and Bonaventura were in midfield, with Madragora, Kwame and Gonzalez behind Belotti.

Great opportunities with Pontense
Olympiacos entered the match better and threatened in the fourth minute with Daniel Pontense. The Portuguese swerved from the left and fired powerfully into Terazzano's corner, but the Fiorentina keeper fell and saved for a corner.

A minute later Belotti shot after Gonzalez's turn, but the ball went wide. In the 9th minute, Fiorentina's goal was correctly disallowed for offside by Milenkovic. The referee showed from the first moment that the central defender of the Italian team was exposed. An offside confirmed seconds later by VAR.
In the 21st minute, Fiorentina threatened with Bonaventura, but Tzolakis was in the right position and blocked the shot of the Italian midfielder.
The goalkeeper of Olympiakos was the winner a minute later, when Bonaventura came out on the back of the "red and white" defense and scored from the height of the large area. The goalkeeper of Piraeus, however, came out in time and with an excellent save kept the score zero.
In the 25th minute, Olympiacos made it 1-0 with Daniel Pontense. The Portuguese winger headed in from a corner, but Terazzano fell and blocked. Two minutes after half an hour of play (32') the Italians tried to threaten with Christian Kwame, but Tzolakis moved quickly and drove in front of the African. In the 40th minute, Pontense saw the movement of El Kaabi and with an excellent ball he brought him out four-four with Terazzano, but the Moroccan forward did not have time to execute.
Nothing changed in the remaining minutes of the first half, with both teams going into the half-time break with the scoreboard reading 0-0.without changes
The second half started without changes from the two coaches, with the first 20 minutes passing without any significant phase. In the 65th minute, Fiorentina threatened with Milenkovic. The defender of the Italian team, after executing a corner, took the header, but sent the ball out.

Great save by Tzolakis
Four minutes later Tzolakis with a great save said "no" to Kwame. The striker of the Italian team shot from inside the area, but the goalkeeper of Olympiakos made an impressive save for a corner.

In the 72nd minute, Mendiliber made their first change of the game, with Jovetic replacing Fortunis. Italiano responded with Duncan replacing Arthur in the 74th minute, with the Olympiakos coach refreshing his team in the 78th minute with Horta replacing Ciquinho.

Huge opportunity with Ibora
In the 80', Olympiacos missed a huge opportunity against Ibora. After Horta's free-kick from the right, the Spanish midfielder headed home but was unlucky as the ball went narrowly wide of the right-hand post of Terazzano's goal.
Two minutes into the Ibora phase, Italiano made two changes, replacing Icone and Barak with Kwame and Bonaventura.

New opportunity with El Kaabi
In the 85th minute, Horta took the free kick that Olympiacos had won from the left, El Kaabi took the header, but the ball went wide. Four minutes later Duncan had a powerful shot from outside the box but the ball went high. The score did not change in the final minutes of regular time, with both teams heading to overtime.

Kini instead of Ortega
Before the start of extra time, Jose Luis Mendilibar made a change, with the experienced technician bringing on Kinney instead of Ortega.
No penalty awarded in favor of Olympiakos, incredible opportunity with Jovetic
In the 94th minute, Olympiacos asked for a penalty in the hand of Kwatra after Kini's cross, but the referee signaled for the game to continue. A phase in which, as clearly seen in the replay, the ball has stopped in the right hand of the Fiorentina defender.
In the 96th minute, the team from the big port missed another great opportunity, this time with Jovetic. The Montenegrin striker made the spot kick from the height of the box, but Terazzano fell to his corner and saved for a corner.
In the 100', El Kaabi headed in, after a free kick from the right, but the ball went high and went over Terazzano's goal. The first part of the performance ended without a goal, with Olympiakos being better and having important phases.

"In" Masouras
Before the start of the second half, Mendiliber made a change, with Masura taking the place of Podense. The Italiano responded with Ranieri instead of Biraghi and Beltran instead of Gonzalez. In 109' Enzola took the shot, giving the ball a foul, but Tzolakis fell to his left corner and saved
INCREDIBLE GOAL from El Kaabi!
In the 116th minute, Ayoub El Kaabi made it 1-0 for Olympiakos with a goal and sent the world of Piraeus to the 7th heaven! Esse crossed from the left and El Kaabi headed the ball into Terazzano's net, setting the New Philadelphia pitch ablaze.
