The four-year-old girl from Santorini continues to fight hard to stay alive, intubated in a hospital in Heraklion.
According to information from cretapost, her health condition is characterized as "stable critical" while she remains intubated and under sedation in the ICU after the lung failure she experienced two days ago (Thursday 1/12), after swallowing a peanut.

However, with his statements to cretapost, the Governor of the University Hospital of Heraklion, Mr. Giorgos Chalkiadakis, lets a small ray of optimism shine through.
Specifically, Mr. Chalkiadakis, without overlooking the criticality of the incident, states that "every 24 hours that pass, the condition of the 4-year-old remains stable, she is better."
It is noted that from the first moment the doctors and nurses of PAGNI fought to keep alive the little girl who swallowed peanuts and experienced breathing difficulties.

It all happened in Santorini, when the child suddenly started having difficulty breathing in front of his parents after swallowing peanuts.
Soon, an air transport operation was set up with the 4-year-old girl being transferred to Crete and intubated by the air transport doctor immediately, upon the arrival of the aircraft at "Nikos Kazantzakis" airport.
That same Tuesday night (11/29), she underwent emergency surgery to endoscopically remove the peanuts that had blocked her right lung (right trunk bronchus).
4-year-old Maria remains intubated, with doctors saying she has lung failure and her health status is considered critical, while her parents are by her side from the first moment, who are living an endless nightmare.
